My Dad's Atempt to Blow Up the Neighborhood :)

The craziest thing happened the other night...So there i was sitting in the kitchen at my moms house with my mom and Jenny, about to have some dinner, when all of a sudden my dad starts banging on our front door, which was locked, to hurry and call 911! The first thing that came to mind is that my dad hurt himself. Last time he was this frantic he had just hammered the tip of his finger pretty much off. Jenny ran to the door and my mom ran to the phone. When Jenny opened the door my dad was still yelling to get 911 or the gas company on the phone because he was working out in the yard and hit and broke the gas line. 911 told my mom to evacuate the house and the neighbors as well. I ran downstairs yelling to Zac to get out of the house! (and im glad he took the time to get a shirt and his shoes on because that was SO important) As soon as we got outside it smelled STRONG of natural gas and it sounded like water shooting out of a pipe. I was pretty sure the house was going to blow. Right then my dad found the shut off valve on the gas meter. 911 was still on the phone and told my mom they sent the gas company. My mom told them not to send any fire trucks or ambulance cause we shut got it shut off, but too late we already heard them coming. That's when it got embarrasing, we caused quite the stir that evening in the neighborhood. Everyone had to come over and investigate what was going on. Here is what happened, my das is building a swing set for the grandchildren in the back yard. Unlike any normal grandpa who would simply buy one. He was using huge metal pieces to put it together and was carrying one to the backyard when it fell over and hit the gas meter and cracked it. Which is when he came yelling for us to call 911. Well, since the firemen were already at the house they helped my dad carry the rest of it to the backyard. At this point we were all to scared to enter the house again until the gas guy got there. He told us it was safe to go in (even though the house reeked of gas). Needless to say we are all still alive, thank heaven. But its nice to give our little city some excitement every once and a while :)

When the gas guy came i was a little sceptial of the whole thing, asking him if it was safe to go into the house.

Hiking

Today Me, Zac, my dad and litter sister Jenny took a hike up American Fork canyon to Silver Lake. The last time i did this was in high school. Its 2.2 miles but felt more like 5 to me. It was good to get out and get some fresh mountain air! (Which we also did last Saturday by floating down Provo river with the Bishops, way fun). It was surprisingly cold once we got to the lake so we didn't stay, just turned right around and came back. I love my dad's dog Mikey, whenever we crossed parts of the river he would get in and lay down. Oh, and can I just say that Michael Phelps is my hero, i just watched him get his 7th gold! Amazing. Anyway im tired and am going to get a GOOD nights sleep tonight!

Im Getting Old, But I Love My Birthday!

Last Friday was my 23rd birthday! Oh how i love to get FAT on my birthday! Its the only day of the year that i don't feel guilty eating out for every meal. Zac and I went to Breakfast with his mom in the morning at IHOP, then Bobbi and Katie took me to lunch to Zupas. Then Zac and I went to dinner at Texas Road House. After dinner Zac said that we needed to kill some time, but he wouldn't tell me what we were doing for the evening. So we decided to drive up to see the new temple being built in Draper. It was beautiful up there! What i couldn't believe even more was the GINORMOUS houses around the temple. I took a picture of one out of amazment. At 8:00 we showed up at our friends Jana and Clint's house. They threw a little suprise party for me! Some of our closest friends were there. The Lott's, Bye's and Bishops. Thanks to all of you, it was so much fun to visit and have yummy cake (thank you jana). Around 11:00pm all of us gals were talking about Breaking Dawn and decided to go get us a copy. We went to Wall-mart,with a huge line. One lady told us to go to Smiths so we called them and they told us they got 200 coppies and only had 30 people in line. We left Wall-mart and waited maybe 10-15 min in line. So worth it. The next day my sisters took me to dinner at Carabbas. After we spent girls night shopping at the mall then went to a hotel in Provo. We went swimming and spent the rest of the night playing "Friends Scene It" in the hotel room. It was so much fun, thanks Amy and Emily! Last of all since i love my dog so much i have to mention that her 3rd birthday was yesterday Aug 4th. I love my puppy! Enjoy some pictures!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIZ!!!

So, I sneaked onto my wife's blog (it wasn't hard, all of her passwords are the same) because I wanted everyone to know how amazing my beautiful wife is. She is the greatest thing to ever happen to me, and she is truly one of the kindest, patient and thoughtful people I have ever met. I'm so grateful I am able to share every day of my life with her. I'm probably one of the luckiest people in the world! Happy birthday Babe! I look forward to many more with you...
