Wow did we have an exciting night last week. It was Wednesday and Zac and I just got home from my sisters house in Spanish Fork. On our way home, driving up the main road it was a white blizzard. I thought it was cool. When we got into our house we could tell the power had gone out, but it was on now and we weren't worried (little did we know). I was planning on going up to my friends Jana's house for a girls night and Zac was planning on going to a movie with her husband Clint. I got a text from Jana around 4:00ish saying that maybe we should cancel because of the weather. My first thought was that the little blizzard was going to pass and we would still be on, although the wind outside was incredible. Then I got another text from Jana saying not to come up because she didnt think she could make it home by 7:00pm. I didnt believe her because it was around 5:00pm and she was coming from Alpine going to Saratoga Springs. That is when i realized how bad it really was out there. We got a call from Clint (Jana's husband) saying that he was going to just come to our house (we live in Lehi) because the weather was to bad and the roads were closed up by his house. Jana decided to just make it to our house too. That is when i called my sister Emily. I knew she was on her way home from Spanish Fork. When she got on the phone i heard Jaxon screaming in the back ground and Emily told me she was in Lehi and was not going anywhere. I told her to not even attempt to get to Saratoga and just come straight to my house. Emily and Clint made it, but poor Jana was still trucking in the weather (keep in mind that the drive to where she was coming from to my house only takes about 10 min) 3 hours later from the time she left work she got here. Luckily her baby slept the whole time. Emily called her husband who was stuck on Redwood Road, he made it to their house in 4 hours, when he got home all their power was out and decided to come down to our house. We watched the news as the night went on and saw that most of the roads were closed around us and so as Jana posted on her blog our home turned into "Camp Layton." It was a long night for all of us. That was probably the worst snow storm i have ever witnessed. No Joke. It was not the amount of snow that fell, it was all the wind. But luckily we were all safe in our now crammed little house. The next morning we woke up to winter wonderland! Snow drifts were up to the top of the fence and guess who didnt have a shovel to get us out of the driveway. Yep...us. Zac grabbed a push broom because i had to go to work. After a little pushing from the guys I was on my way. Well, thats the story. Hopefully we NEVER get another one of those again!
